Airwave(2026)

Airwave is a generative installation style project which uses a system of samplers and synthesis which heavily focuses vocal samples as well as field recordings. It explores a degree of microtonality through the pitch shifting of the various samples and is shaped through the random decision making of the programme.

This patch was made as coursework in Max/MSP and is a modular note generator, with 7 individual synthesiser voices. The user can interact with the patch to change certain parameters that effect the direction of the piece through probability.

This is a simple functional patch available as a M4L midi effect and a independent Max patch, as a reference for the seven primary Greek modes. The user inputs the mode they want to see and its root note and the output is displayed.
